Camino Frances 2024 Day 10 - Jun 14, 2024

Nice walking day of 21 km from Najera to Santa Domingo de la Calzade, a historic town full of fables about chickens and said to be where the Spanish language itself started. I am officially a double hip pain patient even though we lightened my backpack and sent some things ahead in Victor's bag. Oh well. Had a nice talk and walk with Omar a French Moroccan vineyard employee, but for the most part walked in silence. The landscape was mostly vineyards and wheatfields. Lother shared how emotional he feels when he sees us as it reminds him of his deceased brother. A woman from Canada wanted to take a picture of us to send to Trilas who is about a day's walk behind. I chatted with Rey the Cuban American who just retired and is traveling the world with his wife. A road side vendor from Leon knew a lot about Sierra Leone and showed me his lion and Africa tattoos.
