Dead-enders
We all know some dead-enders. They are the first to point out why something can’t happen and they know how to hide direct resistance behind “believable” obstacles. They are extremely articulate in saying “we can’t” but surprisingly mute in offering improved or alternate “we can” ideas. Dead-enders often profess to be open to an idea but end up killing it anyway - because they kill a team’s excitement and motivation to transform. We could all be guilty of this, but try really hard not to be a dead-ender yourself and learn how to spot and manage those who are, by challenging naysayers for a workable alternative they are prepared to support. Be aware and don’t blindly follow the “logic of NO” down the back alley where new and different ideas get abandoned. Please share how you deal with this challenge. #RealWinTips
