Camino Frances 2024 Day 3 - Jun 7, 2024
21 km today on an overcast turned hot day from Zubiri to Pamploma, mostly flat but with a few ups and downs. The majority of it was on narrow high grass lined paths and once close to the city, pavements. It was nice to be in the historic town and on our shortest day yet we had time to walk around a little, run some errands, and enjoy tapas dinner. We ran into Grifta and Mauritz in the same hotel as we. Richard the project manager on sabbatical from Perth was good company on the trails. We also met Steve from Lancashire and a young couple who are accountants in Seoul. The Finnish student from my first auberge said hello. One thing is that we are very visible and people remember us more than we remember them. Today, I was more aware of pain - a little backache, headache and overall fatigue on the first day, lower body stiffness yesterday and today more painful backpain. Victor’s knee seemed better today, so that was a big step in the right direction. Also, things are beginning to feel routine. It’s normal to think - tomorrow, I am walking an altitude of 400 meters over 21 km. Let’s see what the day brings.
