Camino Frances 2024 Day 5 - Jun 9, 2024
22 km from Puente de Reina to Estrella today was the best day so far. It was overcast and sunny at times but overall temperate and a great day for walking. We hit three peaks but all were manageable on both ascent and descent. We walked with Annette all day and had dinner together as well. I met MiSO Michele and Sophie from Singapore and we talked about the island and its best foods. They had a drone with them so that was cool. We also met April and Izzy students from Missouri. At the end of today's walk we ran into Dan from Davis and his wife and their daughter. There are quite a few Americans on the trail but I have not met many. Today I saw many people treating blisters, but my experience is getting into a routine - how to walk, the meet and greet, talking, taking pictures, stopping for a snack, hydrating, check in and check out, trying to eat well at dinner etc. Physically, things feel great! I know I don’t enjoy talking too much so breaking away more to process and take pictures.
