Leadership is lonely. It is not an exercise in being popular or fitting in with the common beliefs. A visionary dares to think the impossible. Being selfless is promoting your team for the good and taking responsibility for the bad. In times of change you might be misunderstood. The best decision is not always the one everyone likes. You are the conscience of the enterprise while managing vertical managers. You make the best call when others present you with the worst problems. Don’t expect praise, you work for a bigger cause.
