Too busy being busy

Over 2 decades ago, my brother Victor Williams sagely counseled me “there is a reason for everything”. Clearly it is true - that every system is governed by the science of cause and effect, but, with us humans, systems don’t have to be static. I can drum up way too many examples of corporate cultures, teams, leaders and individuals who live in anguish with a status quo they don’t like, but when presented with options to address it, back away with rejoinders like - I can’t wake up that early, I just invested in another option, We don’t need any more meetings, That’s not our style, Our people can’t take that much change, We are too busy right now, We’d rather focus on execution, and so forth and so on. Do nothing or shy from bold action is the conscious choice often made. They then retreat back into the familiar, welcome and jagged embrace of anguish and still bemoan their situation or continue to yearn after the best practice of what they aspire to achieve but without the requisite effort and investment. Yes - there are reasons for everything, and they are never hard to find. What is your own experience? #RealWinTips
